## Verified facts

Checked against Udemy's own documentation on 2026-08-20. Fields absent below are ones Udemy does not document, not ones we assumed.

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Has a password | No, signs in with a one-time code |

## Steps

1. **There is no password to reset.** Udemy signs you in with a one-time code sent to the email address or phone number on the account.
2. **Request the code** on the sign-in screen and enter it. Never read a sign-in code aloud to anyone: Udemy will not ask for it.
3. **Secure the inbox instead.** Whoever controls the email account that receives the code controls this account, so that is where a strong unique password and two-factor authentication belong.

## Common problems

- **No longer possible to log in using a password.** Udemy no longer allows password-based login. Password reset requests must be directed to Udemy Support. (https://support.udemy.com/hc/en-us/articles/229603608-How-to-Change-or-Reset-Your-Password)
- **Account put in safe mode after unusual activity.** If unusual activity is detected, account will not have a usable password and will be placed in safe mode. User must wait 10 minutes and follow instructions in recovery email before password reset will work. (https://support.udemy.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500005992501-Troubleshooting-Login-Issues-Email-and-Password)
- **Credit card deleted when changing email address.** If you change your account's email address, any credit card information saved in your account will be automatically deleted. (https://support.udemy.com/hc/en-us/articles/229603608-How-to-Change-or-Reset-Your-Password)
- **Session limit enforcement after excessive login attempts.** If the limit for concurrent sessions across devices is exceeded, account will be locked for 12 hours. Unusual login attempts temporarily disable login tool unless password reset is initiated. (https://support.udemy.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500005992501-Troubleshooting-Login-Issues-Email-and-Password)

## Doing it automatically

Repass cannot reset this one, because there is no password on it. What it can do is reset every other account behind the email address that receives your Udemy sign-in codes, which is what actually guards this account.
