## Steps

1. **There is no password to reset.** Taimi signs you in with a one-time code sent to the email address or phone number on the account.
2. **Request the code** on the sign-in screen and enter it. Never read a sign-in code aloud to anyone: Taimi will not ask for it.
3. **Secure the inbox instead.** Whoever controls the email account that receives the code controls this account, so that is where a strong unique password and two-factor authentication belong.

## Common problems

- **No reset email.** Usually the wrong address, rather than a broken sender. Check every inbox you own before assuming the account is gone.
- **Reset link expired.** These are typically single-use and short-lived. Request a new one and use it immediately.
- **A CAPTCHA or a code appears.** Taimi may add a challenge step. It has to be completed by a person.
- **No password on the account.** If you originally signed up with Google or Apple, there is no password to reset. Sign in the same way you did the first time.
