## Verified facts

Checked against Rippling's own documentation on 2026-08-19. Fields absent below are ones Rippling does not document, not ones we assumed.

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Reset starts at | https://app.rippling.com/forgot-password |
| Reset by email | yes |
| Reset by phone | yes |
| The email contains | a link |

## Steps

1. **Open Rippling's password reset page** at https://app.rippling.com/forgot-password. This is where the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen leads.
2. **Enter the email address or phone number on the account.** If you are not sure which address that is, search your inboxes for mail from rippling.com; the inbox holding those messages is the account email.
3. **Open the reset email and follow its link.** Links are single-use and short-lived; if nothing arrives in a few minutes, check spam and confirm the address.
4. **Choose a strong new password.** 16+ random characters, and never one used anywhere else.
5. **Store it somewhere sealed**: a password manager or encrypted vault, not a note and not a screenshot.

## Common problems

- **RPass personal vault items lost on password reset.** If you use RPass (Rippling's password manager), resetting your Rippling password will lose your personal vault items because RPass encrypts the vault with your password as the key and Rippling keeps no copy of it. - **Only personal email addresses work for password reset.** Corporate or business email addresses cannot be used to reset your password; only a personal email address associated with your account will work. (https://help.rippling.com/s/article/360054483454)

## Doing it automatically

Repass connects to Gmail once, finds the accounts you have, and runs this flow for you in your own browser. Passwords are generated on your device and encrypted before they are stored; Repass also holds a key that can unwrap the vault, so signing in is enough to open it. It pauses and hands over when a site asks for a CAPTCHA or a code.
