## Steps

1. **Open Pixiv's password reset page** at https://accounts.pixiv.net/password/reset. This is where the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen leads.
2. **Enter the email address on the account.** If you are not sure which address that is, search your inboxes for mail from pixiv.net; the inbox holding those messages is the account email.
3. **Enter the verification code** Pixiv emails you.
4. **Choose a strong new password.** 16+ random characters, and never one used anywhere else.
5. **Store it somewhere sealed**: a password manager or encrypted vault, not a note and not a screenshot.

## Common problems

- **No reset available without registered email or email access.** Accounts without a registered email address or that cannot receive messages at the registered email cannot reset their password.
