## Verified facts

Checked against MoneyGram's own documentation on 2026-08-20. Fields absent below are ones MoneyGram does not document, not ones we assumed.

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Reset by email | yes |
| The email contains | a code |
| Old password required | no |

## Steps

1. **Open the sign-in page** at moneygram.com and choose "Forgot password?". Some sites label this "Can't log in?" or "Trouble signing in?".
2. **Enter the email address on the account.** If you are not sure which address that is, search your inboxes for mail from moneygram.com; the inbox holding those messages is the account email.
3. **Enter the verification code** MoneyGram emails you.
4. **Choose a strong new password.** 16+ random characters, and never one used anywhere else.
5. **Store it somewhere sealed**: a password manager or encrypted vault, not a note and not a screenshot.

## Common problems

- **No reset email.** Usually the wrong address, rather than a broken sender. Check every inbox you own before assuming the account is gone.
- **Reset link expired.** These are typically single-use and short-lived. Request a new one and use it immediately.
- **A CAPTCHA or a code appears.** MoneyGram may add a challenge step. It has to be completed by a person.
- **No password on the account.** If you originally signed up with Google or Apple, there is no password to reset. Sign in the same way you did the first time.

## Doing it automatically

Repass connects to Gmail once, finds the accounts you have, and runs this flow for you in your own browser. Passwords are generated on your device and encrypted before they are stored; Repass also holds a key that can unwrap the vault, so signing in is enough to open it. It pauses and hands over when a site asks for a CAPTCHA or a code.
