## Steps

1. **Open Maybank's password reset page** at https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/malaysia/en/personal/frequent_queries/reset_username_password/forgot_username_password.page. This is where the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen leads.
2. **Enter the email address on the account.** Maybank also accepts the username. If you are not sure which address that is, search your inboxes for mail from maybank2u.com.my; the inbox holding those messages is the account email.
3. **Open what Maybank sends and follow it.** Depending on the route it is either a link or a short code. Both are single-use and short-lived.
4. **Choose a strong new password.** 16+ random characters, and never one used anywhere else.
5. **Store it somewhere sealed**: a password manager or encrypted vault, not a note and not a screenshot.

## Common problems

- **Password reset limited to MAE app for individuals.** As of January 5, 2026, Individual and Sole Proprietor users can only reset forgotten passwords directly on the MAE app, not on the website or elsewhere.
