## Verified facts

Checked against Lenovo's own documentation on 2026-08-19. Fields absent below are ones Lenovo does not document, not ones we assumed.

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Reset starts at | https://account.lenovo.com/us/en/account/forget/forget.html |
| Reset by email | yes |

## Steps

1. **Open Lenovo's password reset page** at https://account.lenovo.com/us/en/account/forget/forget.html. This is where the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen leads.
2. **Enter the email address on the account.** If you are not sure which address that is, search your inboxes for mail from lenovo.com; the inbox holding those messages is the account email.
3. **Open what Lenovo sends and follow it.** Depending on the route it is either a link or a short code. Both are single-use and short-lived.
4. **Choose a strong new password.** 16+ random characters, and never one used anywhere else.
5. **Store it somewhere sealed**: a password manager or encrypted vault, not a note and not a screenshot.

## Common problems

- **NVMe password cannot be reset by Lenovo.** If you forget your NVMe password (Single password) or both user and admin NVMe passwords, Lenovo cannot reset your passwords or recover data from the storage drive. - **Hard drive and BIOS-level passwords must be serviced.** For forgotten hard disk or BIOS-level passwords, Lenovo recommends contacting an authorized service provider. (https://blog.lastpass.com/posts/lenovo-owner-password-reset)

## Doing it automatically

Repass connects to Gmail once, finds the accounts you have, and runs this flow for you in your own browser. Passwords are generated on your device and encrypted before they are stored; Repass also holds a key that can unwrap the vault, so signing in is enough to open it. It pauses and hands over when a site asks for a CAPTCHA or a code.
