## Verified facts

Checked against Grammarly's own documentation on 2026-08-19. Fields absent below are ones Grammarly does not document, not ones we assumed.

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Reset starts at | https://www.grammarly.com/resetpassword |
| Reset by email | yes |
| The email contains | a link |
| Old password required | no |

## Steps

1. **Open Grammarly's password reset page** at https://www.grammarly.com/resetpassword. This is where the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen leads.
2. **Enter the email address on the account.** If you are not sure which address that is, search your inboxes for mail from grammarly.com; the inbox holding those messages is the account email.
3. **Open the reset email and follow its link.** Links are single-use and short-lived; if nothing arrives in a few minutes, check spam and confirm the address.
4. **Choose a strong new password.** 16+ random characters, and never one used anywhere else.
5. **Store it somewhere sealed**: a password manager or encrypted vault, not a note and not a screenshot.

## Common problems

- **Password reset link redirects to login page.** When clicking the reset link in email, users may be redirected to the login page instead of the password change form. This is typically caused by browser cookies. Users should delete previous password reset emails and clear browser cookies, then retry with a different browser or machine if needed. - **Loss of email access prevents password reset.** If users no longer have access to their email address and do not remember their password, they cannot reset the password and will need to create a new account with a new email address. - **Recovery email verification codes expire quickly.** Email verification codes for recovery email setup expire after about 15 minutes, requiring users to complete the verification process promptly. ## Doing it automatically

Repass connects to Gmail once, finds the accounts you have, and runs this flow for you in your own browser. Passwords are generated on your device and encrypted before they are stored; Repass also holds a key that can unwrap the vault, so signing in is enough to open it. It pauses and hands over when a site asks for a CAPTCHA or a code.
